K-12 PUBLIC SCHOOLS
The Monterey Peninsula is home to a number of schools serving students from kindergarten through graduate degree programs.

The Monterey Peninsula Unified School District operates two high schools, four middle schools and more than a dozen elementary schools in Monterey, Seaside, and Marina. The district’s office is located at 700 Pacific Street in Monterey, and can be reached by phone at (813) 649-5091.

The Carmel Unified School District serves kindergarten through 12th graders in Big Sur, Carmel and Carmel Valley. The district’s offices are located at the Carmel Middle School campus at 4380 Carmel Valley Road, and can be reached by calling (831) 624-1446.

The Pacific Grove Unified school District, which operates two elementary schools, a middle school and high school in Pacific Grove, is headquartered at 555 Sinex Avenue in Pacific Grove, and can be reached by calling (831) 646-6520.


COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES
A wide variety of colleges, universities and trade schools offer a vast array of programs for anyone seeking higher education.

Monterey Peninsula College, 980 Fremont Street, Monterey, 93940; (831) 646-4000, is a community college offering Associate Degrees in a wide variety of subjects. It also offers major adult educational programs.

California State University Monterey Bay, opened on the grounds of the former Fort Ord in 1994. This residential, four-year campus offers numerous undergraduate and graduate programs. For more information about the school, call (831) 582-3518 or visit their web page at www.csumb.edu.

Chapman University, a private non-sectarian school based in Orange County has a branch campus at 99 Pacific Avenue Suite 375B, in Monterey. An upper division college offering baccalaureate degrees in a variety of subjects, the school can be reached at (831) 647-3720.

TECHNICAL AND VOCATIONAL TRAINING
The Monterey Peninsula Regional Occupation Program offers vocational and technical training in a variety of fields to high school students and adults at its campuses in Seaside (295 La Salle Avenue) and Monterey (222 Casa Verde Way). In addition, classes are held in a variety of locations throughout Monterey County.
