The Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce and the business community generally, recognize the importance of an aggressive approach to effective solid waste management in Monterey County.

The Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce supports and encourages all businesses to:
 

1. Develop on-site waste reduction plans through aggressive, in-house cost effective recycling programs involving customers, patrons and employees.

2. Cooperate with local government, organizations and individuals to find workable and cost-effective means to remove, recycle and reduce solid waste through innovative programs that compliment the characteristics of individual businesses.
