Business Resources Land Use Planning and Growth Management
The Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce generally opposes land use planning via the initiative process as well as the use by special districts or other single purpose authorities and by State and Federal Agencies of their regulatory powers to curtail population or economic growth.
The Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce generally supports:
1. Maintaining local land use planning, and growth management decisions at the City and County level;
2. Efforts to plan regionally and cooperatively, which are cost effective and which do not supplant local land use authority;
3. Increased funding for infrastructure, to accommodate future growth planned cooperatively by the Cities and County of Monterey;
4. County and Municipal Governments soliciting and implementing input from the business community on issues impacting business.
