California’s educational systems are fundamental to creating and preserving job skills throughout the community and the state. The business community recognizes the need to expand and improve at all levels, and form cooperative and beneficial partnerships between business and education wherever possible.

Therefore the Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce supports:
 

1. The active participation of parents, the business community, local and state government and the public at large in programs and events that will further enhance and improve K-12 education in Monterey County;

2. Programs that encourage and foster reasonable and continued growth of post-secondary education that supports all communities in Monterey County;

3. Programs encouraging or enabling internships for youths within Monterey County;

4. Programs that increase the quality and quantity of the workforce;

5. Programs that provide incentives for local businesses to hire vocational students.
