The Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce recognizes that visual and performing arts make important contributions to the community, and that cultural and historical activities enrich the lives of both residents and visitors.

Therefore the Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce encourages:
 

1. Maintenance and expansion of existing and new facilities and programs that support or benefit visual and performing arts and historical or cultural events throughout the community;

2. Support and cooperation between state and local governments, the business community and the historical and cultural arts communities for their mutual benefits and the benefit of the Monterey Peninsula area;

3. Public agencies (including state and local agencies) to provide necessary financial and administrative programs to assist private property owners to upgrade and preserve historical structures;

4. Public agencies (including state and local agencies) to provide support and assistance for artistic, cultural and historical programs.
