John O’BrienJohn O’Brien
CEO and Owner


John O'Brien brings more than 20 years of professional experience in the health care industry to his role as CEO and owner of Central Coast
Senior Services (CCSS). He is responsible for the design, promotion, and delivery of quality CCSS programs, products, and services. Overseeing
more than 120 employees, Mr. O'Brien ensures that the human resources, administration, client services, and education divisions of the company operate cohesively and in accordance with current laws and regulations.

A graduate of the University of California, Santa Cruz, Mr. O'Brien has a wealth of experience in home health care. Prior to establishing CCSS in 1996, he worked as Vice President and Director at Community Home Care, Inc., Director of Case Management at Country Home Care, and Director of Senior Supportive Services at Alliance on Aging.

Mr. O'Brien has played vital roles in the progression and regulation of the health care industry on the Monterey Peninsula. He has provided leadership for numerous non-profit organizations, including: Adult Day Health Care Planning Council Monterey Bay, Area Agency on Aging for Monterey County, Alzheimer’s Association Monterey County Region, Central Coast Area Health Education Center, City of Pacific Grove Housing Committee, Community Healthcare Corporation, Meals on Wheels of the Monterey Peninsula, Monterey Regional Health Development Group, Inc., Ombudsman for Long-Term Care Monterey County, Public Authority for In-Home Supportive Services, Respite Coalition of Monterey County, RotaCare Clinic of Monterey Peninsula, Monterey Bay Geriatric Resource Center, and the Senior Living Associates Group.

Committed to his community, Mr. O'Brien is a member and Past President of the Pacific Grove
Rotary Club, and has received such honors as the Pacific Grove Chamber Entrepreneur of the Year, 2001; Pacific Grove Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year, 2004; Alzheimer’s Association Philanthropist of the Year, 2004; and Volunteer Center’s Community Service Award, “Outstanding Adult Volunteer” 2004. He received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Area Agency on Aging in 2004, was recognized on National Philanthropy Day for “Outstanding Contributions” in 2005, and was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from the Salinas Senior Center in 2006.
